東京は梅雨空が続いております。
緊急事態宣言後はやはり人出も少し増えてきました。
相変わらず外出時は感染防止に気をつけています。
ワクチンに関しても色々と情報が飛び交ってますが、自分もまだもう少し様子見た方がいいのか摂取した方がいいのかちょっと迷っています。
ワクチンを打ったからと言っても感染はするので症状には出にくいけど自分が媒体となって他人にうつす事もあるみたいですね。
変異ウイルスの流行でイスラエルやオーストラリアでもまた感染者が増えてきてるみたいです。
先週知り合いのお薦めでDAVID BYRNEとSPIKE LEEの映画「AMERICAN UTOPIA」を観てきました。
実際のブロードウェイで開催されたショーの映画なんですが、内容がとにかくとても素晴らしかったです。
TALKING HEADS時代の曲も使われていてバンドの演奏も素晴らしく久々に感動しました。

ここのところ日本ジャズ界の大先輩達の訃報が続いております。
混とんとした状態が続く中で、更に凄い重い空気がミュージシャン界隈に漂っている感じです。
この先、そしてコロナ後にこの業界もどうなるのか？
切磋琢磨しながら毎日演奏する事が重要なので、この状況は本当に辛いですね。
それでもこの状況が良くなる事を信じて自分は日々の鍛錬を欠かさず続けるのみです。
さて本日は八王子でカルテットライブです。
40年代〜50年代の古いスタンダードを選曲して演奏してます。

Rainy days continue in Tokyo.
After the emergency is lifted, people come to town little by little.
As usual, I am careful to prevent infection when I go out.
Last week, I watched the movie “AMERICAN UTOPIA” by DAVID BYRNE and SPIKE LEE at the recommendation of my friend.
It’s a movie from a show that was actually held on Broadway, and the content was just amazing.
The songs from the TALKING HEADS era were also used, and the band’s performance was wonderful and impressed after a long time.

There is a lot of information about vaccines, but I’m still wondering if I should wait a little longer or take it.
Even if you get the vaccine, you will get infected, so it is hard to get symptoms, but it seems that you may pass it on to others as a medium.
It seems that the number of infected people is increasing in Israel and Australia due to the outbreak of the mutant virus.
Recently, the sad news of the big seniors in the Japanese jazz world has continued.
It feels like there’s even more heavy air floating around the musicians as the chaos continues.
What will happen to this industry in the future and after Corona?
This situation is really painful because it is important to play every day while working hard.
Still, believing that this situation will improve, I will continue to practice daily.
By the way, I’ll perform as quartet in Hachioji tonight.
We’ll play tunes which was written in 40′s&50′s.
